Combining high-quality photography and illustration with very clear and detailed texts, this field guide presents, country by country, the 160 species of dragonflies and damselflies from the Arctic to the Sahara.
It allows the identification and determination of dragonfly species distributed throughout Europe and North Africa (western Turkey, Cyprus, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, as well as the Azores, the Canary Islands and Madeira). An explanatory text for each species (description, distinctive characteristics, differentiation between males and females, habitat, habits, geographical distribution, status, flight season) augmented with unpublished data. Distribution maps by species. For each species, a photograph of the animal in its environment and identification drawings, i.e. more than 1,000 illustrations. Identification keys to easily determine each species.
